Miss Maia started dancing at the age of 2, in a small town. At the age of 6 years, she made the transition to a larger studio in Moose Jaw and became a competitive student for the next 11 years. Maia completed her grade 8 awards and Advanced 1 vocational examinations through the Royal Academy of Dance, along with many other Canadian Dance Teacher Association ballet, jazz and tap examinations.
She joined Born to Be and realized that there was a real passion for sharing the art with others, which led her to want to be a teacher. From there Maia started with her ADAPT studies and is now in her second year. Her RAD studies began in January 2021 and the plan is to be a certified RAD Ballet and ADAPT Jazz and Tap instructor by the end of 2022. During this time Miss Maia has also become a certified Progressing Ballet Technique instructor. Never one to sit still, Miss Maia will continue to upgrade and improve her dance teaching education through multiple studies.
When not dancing or teaching, Maia works as a CCA in a long-term care facility. A job she thoroughly enjoys. Born to Be has been a huge stepping stone in Maia’s life and she is forever grateful for the encouragement and support provided by the directors and fellow instructors.
